Why use Discusfood BH instead of frozen beef heat.
For Dicsusfood BH, only the beef heart proteins are processed and only proteins that actually be digested by the discus are use in the raw ingredients in discusfood BH food.
Frozen beef heart will contain both proteins and collagens. The collagens cannot be broken down by the discus and will cause long term problems. If fed to a large extent, these can even damage the fish, for example by depositing the collagens in layers on the intestinal wall and thus creating a perfect environment for unwanted parasites to reproduce.
The water pollution of “BH Soft Granulate” is many times lower than it can be the case when feeding frozen food proteins.

In our warm 27-29C water discus feed enthusiastically, so several small meals a day build size faster than one big feed, as long as your filtration and water changes keep ahead of the richer load. Even though this granulate fouls water far less than raw beef heart, a high-protein grow-out diet still demands frequent changes, which discus keepers in Singapore generally do anyway. Reseal the tub against humidity between feeds.
