Anubias Nana Peacock for Singapore Aquascapes

The Peacock cultivar is prized for its slightly textured, wavy leaves that catch light differently from standard Nana, giving a richer green in a planted layout. We find it suits the compact nano and shrimp tanks many local hobbyists keep at home, and it tolerates our year-round 27-29C water happily without temperature control. Like all Anubias it grows slowly, so it stays in shape with minimal trimming and rewards patience with long-lived foliage that anchors a scape.

Attach this epiphyte to hardscape rather than planting it in substrate, as a buried rhizome rots fast in warm chloraminated tap water. Tie or glue the rhizome onto driftwood or rock and leave it exposed so the roots can grip over the coming weeks. Keep light low to moderate and flow gentle; intense lighting on the slow leaves only encourages algae in tropical tanks. A shaded position near taller plants keeps the leaves clean for years.
