‘Pinto’ is a cultivar of Anubias barteri var. nana with a showy white variegation. It gets about the same size as standard Anubias barteri var. nana.

Anubias ‘Pinto’ is a showy variegated cultivar of the classic nana, marbled with creamy white across its leaves while staying the same compact size. As a tissue-culture cup it arrives clean, free of pest snails and algae, which is exactly what you want for a shrimp tank or a tidy nano in a Singapore flat. The white variegation gives a striking contrast against dark wood and stone.

Like all Anubias it is an epiphyte, so tie or glue the rhizome to driftwood or rock and never bury it, or the rhizome will rot. It is famously tough and thrives in low light without CO2, suiting low-tech setups. Variegated leaves carry less chlorophyll, so growth is slower than green nana; gentle light and stable water help it hold its pattern. Position it where you want it long-term, as it is in no hurry to spread.
