Pumice is light and very porous, so it gives strong long-term, stable filtration without the weight of ceramic in larger baskets. Our warm 27-29C tanks keep bacterial colonies highly active, helping Bio Rio process waste efficiently once established. During maintenance, rinse it gently in old tank water rather than tap water so you keep the colony intact; chlorinated tap water would set your cycle back. Pair it after mechanical media for the cleanest, most reliable performance.
