The 1x1cm Mini cubes are sized for compact filtration where standard rings simply will not fit. We recommend them for hang-on-back units and over-tank trickle boxes common in HDB and condo setups, where space is tight but you still want serious biological capacity. The small format packs densely into a media bag, maximising the colonised surface inside a slim chamber while still letting water weave through every pore rather than channelling around a solid mass.
Because the media holds its shape over years of use and stays pH-neutral, it suits our soft, slightly acidic local water without nudging parameters around. Slot it behind a mechanical sponge so suspended waste is caught first, then let the Mini handle the ammonia and nitrite conversion. When servicing, rinse gently in treated water only, never tap, since Singapore’s chloraminated supply can knock back the bacterial colony you spent weeks building.
