ANS Filter Bags in S, M, L and XL

These mesh filter bags, sized from a small 10x12cm up to a large 26x40cm, are the unsung workhorse of a tidy filter. We use them to hold loose media, ceramic rings, bio balls, carbon, or coral chip, so it stays contained and lifts out cleanly for rinsing instead of scattering through your canister or sump. Matching the bag to your media volume and chamber is the difference between a filter you can service in a minute and one you dread opening.

The drawstring mesh lets water pass freely while keeping fines and stray media in place, which keeps flow even across the bed. For our soft local water and the planted and shrimp tanks common here, a bagged batch of buffering or bio media is easy to add or remove without tearing the whole filter apart. Rinse bags in old tank water during maintenance, and replace any that fray, since a split seam dumps media straight into the impeller.
