These compact 2.5cm porous ceramic rods pack a large internal surface into a small footprint, which is exactly what you want in space-limited HDB and condo filters. The smaller size suits nano canisters, hang-on-back media baskets and tight sump trays where full-size noodles waste volume. We bag them in mesh and seat them after the mechanical stage so beneficial bacteria can colonise the deep pores and process ammonia and nitrite.
