Description
Is your aquarium water too soft? Or perhaps you’re facing pH fluctuations.
ANS Oyster shells are a perfect addition to increase and buffer your aquarium pH. This is achieved as the shells dissolve gradually over time, increasing the mineral content and hardening your water.
ANS Oyster Shells are great additions for fishes that prefer hard water, such African Malawi Cichlids. Not only do they help with water parameters, they also beautify the aquarium, and provide activities for the fishes and growth surfaces for beneficial bacteria.
Features,
Increase and stabilise ph and kh.
Natural oyster will slowly dissolve and release carbonates and calcium ions into the water.
It increase and stabilise the PH and KH over 6 months and prevent dangerous ph crash or swing in aquarium/pond.
The oyster shells are thoroughly wash and further cleaned to remove any leftover organic residues.
Suitable for canister filters, internal filters, top filters, trickle filters, pond filtration and sump filtration.
Sizes,
2.5kg bag for 1000-2000L
0.8kg bag for 300-500L
ANS Oyster Shell XL with Net for Hardwater SG Tanks
Singapore’s tap water runs soft and slightly acidic, which suits many community fish but works against hardwater species that need firm pH and KH. These bagged oyster shells dissolve slowly inside your filter, releasing carbonates and calcium that raise and buffer the water over months. We recommend them most to local Malawi and Tanganyikan cichlid keepers chasing the stable, alkaline conditions those rift-lake fish evolved in.
The included net bag drops straight into a canister, top, trickle, sump or pond filter, so you can add buffering capacity without rebuilding your setup. Because the shells release minerals gradually rather than all at once, they help guard against the sudden pH crashes that catch out soft-water tanks here. Choose the 0.8kg bag for tanks around 300-500L or the 2.5kg bag for 1000-2000L systems.
Test before and after adding so you know your starting point. See our hard water fish guide and the KH crash prevention guide. Browse more media in filter media.
