ANS SinoBall Sintered Glass Bio Media for SG Filters

SinoBall is a sintered glass biomedia supplied in 0.5kg or 1.5kg packs with a free filter net, so you can drop it straight into a canister or sump basket. The porous spherical form packs a large internal surface area for nitrifying bacteria to colonise, helping your filter process ammonia and nitrite into less harmful nitrate. The included net keeps the balls contained and makes rinsing during maintenance far less messy.

In our warm 27-29C tanks, biological activity runs fast, which is exactly when you want plenty of stable bacterial housing to keep pace with feeding and stocking. SinoBall suits freshwater and marine alike and stays pH-neutral, so it will not skew the soft, slightly acidic profile many SG hobbyists keep. When servicing, rinse it only in old tank water to avoid wiping out your colony.
