ANS Sock Holder (L) with Free Micron Sock

This large sock holder clamps onto glass up to 15mm thick and positions an ANS Micron Sock L cleanly in your sump or overflow, and it ships with one free sock to get you started. The 8″ by 9″ footprint suits bigger systems, and a proper holder keeps the sock open and correctly aligned so all return water is forced through the mesh rather than slipping past the sides.

Filter socks excel at mechanical polishing, trapping fine particulates that cloud the view and feed nuisance algae. In our warm 27-29C tanks where biology moves fast, pulling out detritus before it breaks down eases the load on your biomedia. The trade-off is upkeep: socks clog quickly, so rinse or swap them every few days, otherwise flow drops and bypass starts.
