A filter cartridge replacement for your BTP Series filters.
Each set comprises of a sponge filter (mechanical filtration) and activated carbon (chemical filtration).
Please note the number of sets in each pack differs from model to model.
It is important to replace your filter cartridges often as the waste trapped can potentially overload the biological filtration capacity of your nitrifying bacteria colony.
This would lead to spikes in the nitrogen cycle and potentially kill your tank life stocks.
***It is advisable to replace the cartridges at least once a month.

Hailea BTP Series Replacement Sponge + Carbon Cartridges
These BTP spare sets pair a mechanical filter sponge with activated carbon, the two consumable stages in your BTP-series filter. Keeping a pack on hand means you can swap a clogged cartridge before flow chokes off, which in a small heavily-stocked tank can happen quickly. The sponge catches particulate waste while the carbon adsorbs dissolved organics and discolouration, keeping the water clear between bigger services. Note that the number of sets per pack varies by model, so check before ordering.
In Singapore’s warm 27-29C water, trapped waste decomposes fast, and an overloaded cartridge can push more ammonia into the system than your nitrifying bacteria can process, risking a spike that stresses or kills livestock. We echo the roughly-monthly replacement advice for that reason. When you swap, rinse rather than replace any seasoned bio-sponge so you keep the colony intact and avoid restarting the cycle.
