This replacement foam set is the consumable heart of an OASE BioCompact internal filter, and in Singapore’s warm tanks it earns its keep faster than many hobbyists expect. At a steady 27-29C, biological activity runs high and fine particulate accumulates quickly, so the foam both traps mechanical debris and hosts the beneficial bacteria that keep ammonia and nitrite in check. We recommend keeping a spare set on hand so a clogged filter never forces you into a rushed, over-zealous clean.

When you service these foams, rinse them in old tank water rather than straight tap water. Our chloraminated supply will knock back the bacterial colony you have worked to establish, and in a heavily stocked nano or planted setup that can nudge you toward a mini-cycle. Stagger replacement so you never swap every foam at once, preserving the living filtration that does the real work.
