Replacement Cylinder Bio Sponge (XY-2810 Series) Spares

This is the replacement cylinder foam cartridge for Xinyou’s 2810/2811/2813/2835/2836 bio sponge filters. We keep these in stock so keepers are never caught out when a hard-working sponge finally tears or compresses past the point of cleaning. The nodular foam carries both mechanical filtration and the beneficial bacteria that keep ammonia and nitrite in check, so a fresh cartridge restores both flow and biological capacity in one swap.

For Singapore tanks, replace gradually rather than all at once. Our warm 27-29C water means a sudden loss of bacterial surface can trigger an ammonia spike quickly, so seed a new cartridge beside the existing one for a couple of weeks before retiring the old foam. Never rinse a replacement under chlorinated tap water; soak it in old tank water first so it settles and stays colonised. Keeping a spare on the shelf turns filter maintenance into a thirty-second job.
