XY-915 Bio Sponge Replacement (Black/White) for Your Filter

This is the replacement bio sponge for the Xinyou XY-915, available in black and white foam. The two colours are not just cosmetic: keepers often run the coarser sponge as a first mechanical stage and the finer one for polishing, and having both on hand lets you tailor the foam to your needs. As with any sponge media, it carries the beneficial bacteria that drive biological filtration, so a tired or torn sponge is worth replacing before it starts shedding rather than filtering.

For Singapore keepers, treat a replacement sponge as live equipment, not a disposable part. Our warm water turns over waste fast, so swap gradually and seed the new foam alongside the old to protect your bacterial colony. Always rinse and soak a new sponge in old tank water, never under chlorinated tap, before it goes into service.
