The R-Flo Outlet 17mm is the return pipe that sends filtered water back into your tank, sized for the thicker tubing on larger canisters. Its directed flow lets you push current across the surface for gas exchange or angle it down through a planted bed to keep CO2 and nutrients circulating. Getting the outlet aimed right is what separates a tank with stagnant corners and patchy growth from one where plants pearl evenly.
In our climate, surface movement matters more than many beginners expect: warm water holds less oxygen, so a little ripple from a well-placed outlet helps fish through the hottest afternoons and overnight when plants stop producing oxygen.
