The R-flo outlet is the return fitting that shapes how filtered water re-enters your tank, spreading flow so you get circulation in every corner instead of a single jet blasting one spot. Good distribution matters more than raw turnover: it keeps CO2 and nutrients moving evenly to plants, stops debris settling in dead zones, and helps the whole water column stay oxygenated, which counts in our warm tanks where dissolved oxygen sits lower to begin with.

Aiming the outlet to ripple the surface slightly also drives gas exchange, useful through the night when plants consume oxygen rather than produce it. On a planted layout, dial the flow so leaves sway gently without sandblasting your carpet or scattering lightweight stems.
