Aquaforest AF90/AF110 Replacement Sponge Set

These sponges are the dedicated mechanical inserts for Aquaforest’s AF90 and AF110 media reactors, and replacing them on schedule keeps fine detritus from clogging your media and choking flow. In a warm Singapore reef or planted system, organics break down quickly, so a tired sponge can channel water around the media rather than through it. We swap ours when the pores look matted rather than waiting for flow to crash, which protects both pump and downstream filtration.

Rinse the sponge in old tank water during a water change rather than under the tap, since chloraminated Singapore tap water will knock back the beneficial bacteria living in it. When a sponge finally tears or stays grey after rinsing, fit a fresh set so your reactor keeps polishing water properly. Keeping a spare on hand means a quick swap instead of running the reactor compromised for days.
