Description

A replacement cartridge for your E-Bang EB-05 and EB-06 low water filter.

The wool is fantastic for trapping smaller pieces of detritus and fish waste.
While the activated carbon is important for absorbing harmful chemicals / toxins from the water column.

Therefore, It is important to either wash out or replace your filter wool at least once a month.
Failure to do so might lead to crashes/spikes which may be deadly to your live stocks.
In principle, this is similar to why water changes are done.

Ebang EB-05/EB-06 Replacement Filter Wool for SG Tanks

This replacement cartridge keeps your Ebang EB-05 or EB-06 low-water filter doing its job: the wool layer traps the fine detritus and fish waste that clouds a tank, while the activated carbon adsorbs dissolved organics and odours. In Singapore’s warm 27-29C water, biological processes and waste breakdown run fast, so a clogged or exhausted cartridge quickly becomes a bottleneck that lets nutrients and muck accumulate where you do not want them.

We recommend rinsing or swapping the wool roughly monthly, and not all at once if it is also carrying your beneficial bacteria. Carbon, by contrast, exhausts and should simply be replaced rather than washed. Rinse media in old tank water, never straight chlorinated tap, so you do not kill off the bacterial colony that keeps your cycle stable. Keeping spares on hand is sensible during the monsoon season when power blips can disrupt flow.
