OASE BioCompact Mini Internal Filter for Nano Tanks and Paludariums
The BioCompact Mini is a neat internal filter for small aquariums, shrimp tanks and paludariums where space is tight, exactly the kind of setup that fits an HDB or condo shelf. It arrives complete and ready to run, with an adjustable flow diffuser so you can soften the current for shrimp or bettas that dislike strong flow. The active-charcoal foam handles polishing and light chemical filtration in the compact body without taking up much room.
The horizontal-mount option is the clever part: lay it on its side and it works in a shallow paludarium or low-water terrarium, which suits the planted ripariums many local hobbyists enjoy. It runs quietly and sips power, sensible for a tank that may sit in a bedroom or study. One care note for our climate: rinse the foam in old tank water during water changes rather than tap, since chloraminated tap water kills the beneficial bacteria the filter relies on.
Browse small-tank filters under filtration and equipment, and read our nano internal filter guide with the filter media guide.
