SunSun XUP-01 / XUP-02 UV Filter for Singapore Tanks

The XUP series combines mechanical filtration with a built-in UV-C lamp in one quiet, tidy unit, and the modular chambers click apart on clips for fast, fuss-free cleaning. The UV stage is what sets it apart: as water passes the lamp, free-floating algae and some waterborne microbes are knocked back, which is how it helps clear a stubborn green-water bloom that a normal filter cannot touch. Extra chambers snap on if you want more media volume later.

Green water is a familiar headache in Singapore, where bright rooms, warm 27-29C water and nutrient-rich tanks give algae everything it needs to bloom. A UV unit like this is one of the more dependable fixes once a bloom takes hold. Run it continuously while clearing the water, keep the quartz sleeve clean for the lamp to work, and note that UV bulbs lose output over time and need periodic replacement to stay effective.
