HIKARI Economy 4kg for koi and pond fish in Singapore
The 4kg bag is built for pond keepers and anyone feeding a heavily stocked group, so it suits the koi and goldfish ponds we see in landed gardens and at HDB community spaces around the island. As a floating staple it lets you watch every fish come up and feed, which is the easiest way to spot a fish that is off its food early. Buying in bulk also works out cheaper per feed for a busy pond.
Unlike temperate climates, Singapore koi never truly go into winter dormancy because our water sits around 27-29C year-round, so fish stay active and feed daily. That means steady appetite but also faster waste production, so size each feed to what the pond clears in a few minutes and lean on good mechanical and biological filtration. Resealing the bag and storing it dry matters in our humidity, as pellets soften and spoil quickly once exposed.
