Carefully take the plant out of the cup and rinse off the growing media under the tap.
Split the plant in 6-8 portions using your fingers or sharp scissors (for small foreground plants).
Plant portions into the substrate using tweezers. Then watch them grow!

Elatine hydropiper (Tropica 1-2-Grow!) for Nano Carpets

This creeping stem plant is one of our quiet favourites for low, fresh-green carpets, and its very fine leaf size makes it a natural choice for nano-tanks where larger carpeting plants look out of scale. The bright green hue sits beautifully against wood and stone, which is why it has grown popular among detailed aquascapers. Supplied as a tissue-culture cup, it arrives clean and ready to split into small portions for planting.

Growth resembles Hemianthus callitrichoides ‘Cuba’ and Glossostigma elatinoides, so treat it as a demanding carpet that rewards strong light and CO2. Plant tiny clumps spaced across the front and let them creep together. In Singapore’s warm 27-29C tanks no chiller is needed, but good flow and stable conditions help it carpet evenly. Trim the mat as it thickens to keep lower growth from shading out and detaching.
