Nori algae are rich in vitamins, minerals, and proteins, which have a crucial impact on the proper development and functioning of fish. These algae are a fundamental food source for many species living in the wild.
Spirulina, also an ingredient in our food, falls into the category of “superfoods.” Known for its high nutritional content, it supports the natural digestive processes of fish, contributing to maintaining their health and vitality. When regularly used, it enhances the coloration of fish due to the carotenoids contained in spirulina.

Dosage: We recommend feeding your fish 1-2 times a day, giving them the amount of food they can manage to eat in a few minutes. This will ensure they get the right amount of nutrients without over-consuming or wasting food.

Feeding Aquaforest Marine Flakes To Singapore Reef Fish

These 25g Marine Flakes suit herbivorous and omnivorous reef fish, and the nori and spirulina content makes them a sensible staple for tangs, blennies and many of the grazers we stock locally. Flakes are convenient for everyday feeding, and the algae base helps satisfy fish that would otherwise pick at your rockwork. We feed small pinches a couple of times a day rather than one large dump, which keeps more food in front of the fish and less drifting into the sand.

In our climate, food storage matters more than people realise. Singapore humidity gets into open flake tubs quickly, so we keep the lid sealed tight, store it somewhere dry and avoid wet fingers near the container. A 25g pot is sized to be used up before it goes stale, which is exactly what you want with a vitamin-rich flake. Overfeeding also feeds nuisance algae, so portion control protects both fish and water quality.
