How long does the food keep after opening?
>Please ensure you buy a packaging size suitable for your aquarium/terrarium/pond so that the quantity contained is used up within 4 months. Compare it with a tin of biscuits lying around for several months. When properly stored they are not necessarily soggy, but they are not quite as tasty as when the packet was opened. Therefore it is not advisable to use the food after this time.
The repeated opening and closing of the packaging brings the food into contact with bacteria and humidity over a longer storage period. Thus the quality of the premium food reduces continuously and this influences the vitamin content and the freshness of the food. For the benefit of your animals you always should feed them fresh food.
JBL NovoFlower Mini for Singapore Flowerhorn Keepers
Flowerhorns are one of the most popular display cichlids in Singapore homes, and the Mini granule is sized for younger and smaller specimens up to around the 12cm mark before they graduate to larger sticks. The fine granules sink slowly, so juveniles can grab them mid-water without the waste and water-fouling that oversized pellets cause in a hungry grow-out tank. We like it as a daily staple during the active colouring and early kok-development phase.
Feed small portions a few times a day rather than one big meal, and never leave uneaten granules sitting in our warm 27-29C water, where they break down fast and spike ammonia. A flowerhorn produces a heavy bioload, so pair generous feeding with strong filtration and regular water changes. The astaxanthin and mineral content support the rich reds and the head growth that flowerhorn keepers prize.
