Shirakura Ebi Chi for Shrimp Colonies

Shirakura Ebi Chi is a fine, powdered food widely used by Caridina and Neocaridina keepers in Singapore. The “Ebi” naming reflects its purpose as a shrimp food, and the powder is designed to encourage biofilm and feed the smallest shrimplets that cannot tackle larger pellets. We see breeders dust it lightly over the substrate to support survival rates in a young colony.

Because it is so fine, a tiny pinch goes a long way. We recommend mixing it with a little tank water and spotting it onto a feeding dish so it does not foul the substrate, especially important in our warm tanks where leftovers break down quickly. Feed sparingly a few times a week rather than daily, and watch your TDS, since overfeeding any shrimp food can nudge water parameters.
