Feeding UHT Water Flea / Moina Macrocopa 75g
Moina macrocopa, commonly called the water flea, is a small freshwater crustacean prized as a feed for smaller, fussier fish. At around 0.02 to 0.04 inch they are noticeably smaller than Daphnia pulex, and they carry a higher protein and lower fat content, which makes them an excellent choice for fish that struggle with bigger foods, as well as for juveniles graduating up from the tiniest fry foods.
For Singapore keepers, this bottled format is the convenient route to a food that is otherwise fiddly to culture at home. It suits nano fish, small community species and growing fry kept in compact HDB tanks where space for live cultures is scarce. Feed modest amounts that your fish clear quickly, since our warm 27-29C water spoils surplus fast and can cloud a small tank. Keep the bottle sealed tight and refrigerated between feeds, and use a clean pipette so you do not foul the water.
It belongs to our general fish food range. For sensible feeding read our feeding amounts and frequency guide, and for the next stage of rearing see our first-month fry food guide.
