JUWEL Cirax are highly porous ceramic-based pellets which, due to their extremely large surface area, create the perfect environment fulfilled the bacteria. In your JUWEL filter, Cirax helps to ensure excellent water quality.
Using a special basket, tailored to the size of your JUWEL filter, makes it easy to use, whilst the optimised filling quantity means a long service life of up to a year.

JUWEL Cirax Ceramic Granules in SG

Cirax is JUWEL’s high-porosity ceramic bio media, granules riddled with microscopic tunnels that give an enormous internal surface for nitrifying bacteria to colonise. Slotted into a Bioflow filter using the matching basket, it becomes the workhorse biological stage, the part doing the steady, invisible job of converting fish waste into less harmful compounds and holding water quality steady between cleans.

This is the media we tell Singapore keepers to disturb the least. In our warm 27-29C tanks the bacterial colony on ceramic media is what carries a stocked community, and a long service life of up to a year means you rarely need to touch it. When you do clean the filter, give Cirax only the lightest swish in old tank water and leave it in place, because rinsing it under the chlorinated tap or replacing it wholesale would wipe out exactly the colony you spent months building.
