JUWEL Amorax is a drop-in filter sponge designed to bind ammonium, and it has a specific job: it is most useful when a tank is not yet fully cycled or when a sudden bioload spike outpaces your biological filter. We often recommend it to JUWEL owners setting up a fresh Lido or Rio, or to anyone who has just added a batch of new fish and wants a temporary safety net while bacteria catch up.

It is worth being clear about what it is not. Amorax is a stopgap, not a substitute for a properly matured filter; its capacity is finite and it should be replaced on schedule rather than left in indefinitely. In our warm 27-29C tanks, biology establishes fairly quickly once feeding is sensible, so use Amorax to smooth the risky early weeks while your colony stabilises.
