With the help of the base you don’t need to secure the light to the aquarium glass itself which makes it easier to use for smaller tanks or Wabi-Kusa bowls. You can adjust the height of the light and even twist it in the holder which makes it usable for different shapes and sizes.

The Chihiros C2 Base solves a specific problem for small-tank keepers: it lets you stand the C2 light beside the tank rather than clamping it to the glass, which is a real convenience on rimless nanos, shallow bowls, and wabi-kusa setups. Because the height adjusts and the light twists within the holder, you can dial in coverage for odd shapes and low, wide containers that a glass-mount arm simply does not suit. For the compact aquascapes popular in Singapore HDB and condo homes, that flexibility is genuinely useful.

One important note we always flag: this base is made for the standard C2 and is not compatible with the C2 RGB light, so check which unit you own before ordering. Standing the light off the rim also keeps your open-top scape clean and makes top-down maintenance easier, with nothing clamped over the water to work around. It is a tidy, stable solution for a desktop or shelf display.
