Chihiros Shade for Vivid 2: Why Reflectors Help
This is a pair of side glaze shields that clip onto a Vivid 2-series fixture, acting as reflectors that channel stray light back down into the tank. Chihiros rates the gain at roughly 15% more downward illuminance, which can be the difference that pushes a foreground carpet over the line in a deeper tank. It is an optional accessory for the WRGB, WRGB II and RGB Vivid 2 families.
Beyond raw output, the shades cut side glare, so a tank sitting in an open HDB living room is less likely to dazzle from the sofa. They also keep more light over the water rather than spilling onto the cabinet, which keeps the display looking crisp. Fitting is tool-free and the two plates cover both sides of the fixture.
