UVA lighting plays an important role in reptile husbandry, influencing natural behaviours like feeding, activity and breeding by mimicking the daytime light reptiles experience in the wild. This frosted UVA bulb, offered in 25w and 40w, helps create a more natural day cycle in an enclosure and encourages animals to behave as they would outdoors. The frosted glass softens the output to reduce harsh glare over the basking zone.
As with any heat-producing bulb, fitting matters: always use it in a proper ceramic-rated lamp holder and fixture to prevent overheating or fire, and position it so your reptile cannot make direct contact. We treat UVA as one part of a complete lighting plan, alongside the heat and UVB your particular species needs.
