Growing Cupea Anagalloidea in Singapore Planted Tanks
This delicate, small-leaved aquatic adds fine texture and a soft natural feel to planted layouts. We see it used most often in the midground and as filler between hardscape, where its compact foliage contrasts nicely with broader-leaved crypts and swords. In our warm 27-29C tanks it appreciates good light and benefits from CO2 if you want tighter, more compact growth, though patient low-tech keepers can still grow it more loosely.
Like many fine stem and groundcover plants, it does best with a nutrient-rich substrate and steady fertilisation, drawing on nitrates and trace elements to stay lush. Trim regularly to encourage bushiness and replant healthy tops to thicken the stand. Because it can be a little sensitive to swings, keep your dosing and lighting consistent, and dechlorinate tap water fully before water changes to neutralise the chloramine common in Singapore mains supply.
For feeding and growth, see our EI dosing guide and trim and replant guide. Browse complementary species in our live plants range.
