Description
An agent for raising magnesium levels in reef aquariums. Magnesium is essential for the proper development of corals. Lowered magnesium level may cause inability to maintain proper calcium level and too low pH. The recommended level of magnesium in reef aquaria is 1180-1460 mg/l (ppm).
Dosage: dissolve 10 g in 1000 ml RODI water. Dosage should be determined by your water test results and corals daily consumption. Before applying Magnesium solution into the water, it is recommended to run a water test to check current water parameters. 100 ml of Magnesium solution in 100 l of water raises Magnesium level by 1,2 mg/l (ppm). We do not recommend raising Magnesium level by more than 50 ppm daily. In order to maintain ionic balanceKH Buffer and Reef Mineral Salt should also be applied. Magnesium and Calcium or Reef Mineral Salt can be combined together into one solution. Contains MgCl2x6H2O.
Product for aquarium use only. Not suitable for human consumption. Keep away from children.

AF Magnesium for SG Reef Aquariums
AF Magnesium is a dry supplement for raising magnesium, and magnesium is the quiet workhorse parameter that makes calcium and alkalinity behave. When magnesium runs low, you struggle to hold calcium and pH no matter how much you dose, which is why we always check it first when a reefer reports stubborn alkalinity or calcium swings. The 750g tub mixes a generous stock solution with RODI water for precise, controllable dosing.
For Singapore reefs the practical guidance is to test before you dose and aim for stability within the recommended range rather than chasing the top end. Magnesium is consumed far more slowly than calcium or alkalinity, so you typically correct it periodically rather than daily. Dose into flowing sump water away from corals, and bring it up gradually if you have a deficit. With this foundation solid, your daily calcium and alkalinity dosing becomes far more predictable in our warm, fast-growing 27-29C tanks.
This sits in our marine additives range. Read our calcium and magnesium guide and the Balling method reef dosing guide to keep all three major elements in balance.
