Aquaforest Lithium LAB (Li) 200ml

Description

Supplement contains concentrated lithium. Although the influence of lithium on the marine organisms functioning remains unknown, its deposits are regularly consumed in the aquarium. This element is naturally present in seawater, therefore, in order to provide aquarium inhabitants with conditions as close to natural environment as it is possible, lithium should be regularly dispensed into the aquarium.
Dosage
1 ml of the product increases the lithium level by 0.01 mg/l in 100 litres (27 US gal) of water. Recommended level of lithium in aquarium water is 0.15 – 0.20 mg/l (ppm). Please remember, that maximum safe daily dose is 4 ml per 100 litres of water. If you need a higher dose, split it into a few days. Dosage should be based on microelements consumption. Note, that each aquarium is different and final dosage depends on the coral cast and individual aquarium needs. Both, deficiency and excess micronutrients will affect aquarium inhabitants, therefore dosage should be selected and modified on the basis of regular Aquaforest Lab water tests.

Aquaforest Lithium LAB for Singapore Reef Tanks

Lithium LAB tops up a minor element that is naturally present in seawater and slowly consumed in a closed reef. The honest position, which the manufacturer itself notes, is that lithium’s exact role in marine organisms is not fully understood, but the case for dosing is replicating natural seawater as closely as possible. For keepers pursuing a true natural-seawater approach, replacing trace elements that get steadily stripped out by skimming and filtration is part of that philosophy.

This is a highly concentrated supplement, so on a typical Singapore reef of 200-300L a very small amount shifts the reading. We treat minor elements like this as the final layer, added only once alkalinity, calcium and magnesium are rock-steady. Without ICP testing we strongly suggest staying conservative, dosing into flowing sump water, and never chasing trace elements in isolation. In warm 27-29C tanks consumption is steady, so a consistent light weekly routine serves you better than occasional heavy additions.
