Using the UP Aqua Hydroponic Plant Holder Box
We like this hang-on box for hobbyists who want greenery growing emersed above the waterline without committing to a full riparium build. It clips onto the rim and holds plant roots in its perforated cavity while the leaves grow up into Singapore’s naturally humid air, which emergent plants love. The small holes let water and roots through but keep curious fish and shrimp from uprooting or nibbling the plants.
In our local setups it works well with pothos, lucky bamboo, syngonium or aquarium stems left to grow above the surface, all of which pull nitrate straight from the water and help polish it between water changes. Because it simply hangs on the back glass, it suits HDB and condo nano tanks where floor space and tank footprint are tight, and it adds height and structure without any drilling or extra hardware.
