Description
Jungle Base is a substrate material to be spread on the bottom of aquarium tanks where water tends to stagnate. Because it is pumice based blended with soil microorganisms and charcoal powders effective for the growth of plants, the breathability is maintained in the substrate, and it prevents plants from root rot.
Jungle Soil is a substrate material suitable for plant cultivations in Paludarium. Because it is natural black soil based blended with soil microorganisms and anthracite effective for the growth of plants, healthy plants with strong roots grow.
By using Jungle Base and Jungle Soil together, a substrate suitable for Jungle Plants can be created.
DOOA Jungle Soil 700ml for paludarium planting
Jungle Soil is a natural black-soil substrate formulated for plant cultivation in paludariums, blended with soil microorganisms and anthracite to support strong, healthy root systems. It is designed to work alongside Jungle Base, the pumice-and-charcoal layer spread on the bottom to maintain breathability and guard against root rot. Together they build a layered substrate tuned for the jungle plants used in terrarium and emersed setups.
We find this style of soil well matched to Singapore’s warm, humid conditions, where vigorous emersed growth needs a substrate that holds structure and stays aerobic rather than turning anaerobic and sour. The black soil also gives that clean, natural look against the greenery. As with any active soil it will gently soften water at first, which suits the soft, slightly acidic profile most local hobbyists already work with.
