The Pontec PondoSolar 150 solar fountain pump

The Pontec PondoSolar 150 is a self-contained solar fountain pump that runs straight off its 1.4-watt panel with no mains connection, pushing up to 150 litres per hour through four interchangeable nozzles. We like solar fountains for Singapore balconies, small patio tubs and feature bowls where running a cable is awkward, and our abundant year-round sunshine drives the pump reliably through the day. The different spray patterns let you set a gentle bubble or a taller plume to suit the container.

Keep in mind a panel-direct solar pump only runs while the sun is on the panel, so the fountain pauses under heavy monsoon cloud and at night, which is fine for aeration and ambience but not a substitute for filtration on a stocked pond. Site the panel in full, unshaded sun, top up evaporation in our heat, and clear the nozzle of debris and algae periodically so the spray pattern stays crisp.
