Lighting a Singapore pond with the Hailea SD series
The SD series gives you two low-voltage underwater LED options: the SD 10 with eight 1W LEDs for a subtle glow, and the brighter SD 30 with twenty-four 3W LEDs for larger features. Running on 12V output, they are a safe, tidy way to light a koi pond, a balcony tub or a water feature after dark. In Singapore that evening window is when most people actually enjoy the garden, so well-placed underwater light turns a pond into a proper feature once the sun drops.
Position the lights to graze rockwork, planting and waterfalls rather than pointing straight up, which only highlights surface debris and glare. Because they live underwater in an outdoor setting, route the low-voltage cabling neatly and keep the transformer sheltered and dry, which matters during our heavy monsoon rain. Wiping algae film off the lenses every so often keeps the output crisp, since a thin green coat dulls even a bright fixture quickly.
