Description

Fountain nozzles are beautiful and practical additions to a pond should you be able to accommodate one.
If you own an external pond, it is always a good idea to use a fountain nozzle. When in operation, they help circulate the water while improving aeration via surface agitation. Your water temperature would also be lowered.
Surface agitation would also prevent pests like mosquitos from laying eggs.
Having pointed out the benefits, it is also important to factor in that fountains may block your view of the fishes, or hinder feeding. Initially, they may also proof to be attractive to pets like dogs. You might have to bathe that pup at least once!

Adding the JEBAO FT Fountain Nozzle to a Singapore Pond

The FT series nozzles turn an ordinary pond pump into a decorative fountain, and the different heads let you choose a spray pattern that suits a courtyard, landed-home garden or a condo water feature. Beyond looks, the spray adds surface movement that lifts oxygen, which is genuinely useful here because our 27-29C days lower the water’s oxygen-holding capacity and fish gasp most on still, humid evenings. The agitation also disrupts the calm surface film that mosquitoes need to lay eggs.

Match the nozzle to your pump’s output; too little flow gives a weak dribble, too much can overshoot the pond edge on a breezy day. We suggest siting the fountain away from feeding spots and viewing windows so the splash does not obscure your koi or push floating pellets around. During heavy monsoon downpours, an overflowing pond plus fountain spray can scatter water, so check your levels.
