The Platinum Rummy Nose Tetra is a rare color morph of the classic rummy nose tetra, featuring a shimmering pale body while retaining the iconic bright red nose and striped tail. They are active mid-level swimmers and are famous for their synchronized schooling behavior. Their nose coloration is also a good indicator of health—fading can signal stress or poor water quality. A well-maintained planted aquarium with gentle flow and stable parameters helps them thrive and display their best coloration.

Keeping Platinum Rummy Nose Tetras in Singapore
The Platinum Rummy Nose is a pale-bodied morph of the classic Hemigrammus bleheri, and it keeps the same trait that makes the species so beloved: that bright red nose acts as a living water-quality gauge. When the colour is strong, your fish are content; when it fades, treat it as an early warning that parameters have slipped. For attentive local keepers, that built-in feedback is genuinely handy in a planted display.
These are sensitive, tight-schooling fish that belong in groups of at least eight to ten, and they reward stable, clean water. They suit our soft, slightly acidic local tap water and sit comfortably in the 27-29C ambient range, though they do not tolerate the swings of an immature tank. Add them only to an established setup, drip-acclimatise slowly, and give them open swimming space framed by planting.
