How To Safely Add Fish To Tank

  1. Set live stock aside with transportation bag in room temperature place for 30 minutes.
  2. Then transfer bag to float in aquarium for another 30 minutes
  3. Use a fish net to transfer the live stock by scooping it from the bag into the tank.

Note: Do not release live stocks together with the transportation water into tank.

Keeping the Mosquito Rasbora in Singapore nano tanks

The Mosquito Rasbora is a tiny, peaceful Boraras-type nano fish that shows its best when kept in a decent-sized group, where the shoal relaxes and the males colour up to compete for attention. We love these for small planted scapes because their diminutive size lets a modest tank feel busy and alive, and their gentle nature makes them ideal tankmates for shrimp and other micro-fish rather than boisterous larger species.

For SG keepers this is one of the easier wins, since these nano rasboras genuinely suit our soft, slightly acidic tap water and our warm 27-29C ambient temperature, meaning a well-cycled desktop tank often needs no heater at all. We acclimate them slowly by floating the bag to equalise temperature, then add small amounts of tank water over time, because tiny fish are sensitive to abrupt changes. Feed fine foods they can actually fit in their mouths.

See more in our tropical fish range, and set them up well with our Boraras species guide, our chili rasbora care guide, and exclamation point rasbora care for close relatives.
