Echinodorus Iguazu Care in Singapore Tanks
Echinodorus Iguazu is a handsome rosette sword we recommend as a midground to background feature, valued for its textured, gently ruffled leaves that catch the light. Despite the listing copy, it grows as a crown-forming sword rather than a true cuttable stem plant, so treat it like other Echinodorus. In our warm 27-29C tanks it settles in well, and once established it adds welcome height and movement to the back of a planted layout.
Give it medium to strong light and, above all, a nutrient-rich substrate, since swords feed heavily through their roots and respond strongly to root tabs. Plant the crown at the substrate surface and keep the growth point clear. As it matures it produces a fuller rosette and may throw daughter plants on flower stalks, which you can pot up to expand your stock. Remove older outer leaves as they fade to keep the plant looking its best.
For feeding and layout, see our root tabs guide and echinodorus aquascape guide, and browse companions in our stem plants range.
