Description
Main food for tortoises 10 – 50 cm in size
Especially for the nutritional requirements of tortoises
To remain healthy animals which are predominantly herbivore need food which is low in protein and rich in fibre. The food for tortoises deliberately contains only vegetable ingredients, high in fibre and low in proteins.
Feeding recommendations
Several times a day feed as much as can be eaten in a short time. For adult animals 4 to 5 feeds per week are sufficient. Feed directly, soaked in small quantities of water or with fresh meadow herbs.
Feeding JBL Agivert to Tortoises in Singapore
Agivert is a purely plant-based staple aimed at the herbivorous tortoises and land turtles many Singapore households keep on their balconies and in HDB corners. The recipe leans on fibre and keeps protein deliberately low, which suits species that would graze grasses and herbs in the wild rather than hunt. We recommend it for keepers who want a convenient base feed to round out the fresh greens and weeds they offer through the week.
In our warm climate tortoises stay active and feed readily year-round, so portion control matters more than seasonal slowdown. Offer only as much as your animal finishes in a short sitting and lean on a few feeds across the week for adults rather than constant grazing on prepared food. You can offer the pellets dry, lightly soaked, or mixed through fresh meadow herbs to encourage fussier eaters, and always keep clean drinking water within reach in our humidity.
