The XL version of the turtle box gives a larger animal, or a growing one, more space to haul out and dry off completely. Turtles and terrapins are part-time land dwellers, and a platform big enough to fit the whole body is important: a shell that dries fully between swims stays healthier than one kept permanently damp. For Singapore keepers whose turtle has outgrown a small dock, this is a practical upgrade.
Position the box so a basking lamp can warm the surface from above, encouraging your turtle to climb out and thermoregulate naturally. Because turtles foul water quickly, pair the larger dock with robust filtration and frequent water changes to keep things clear and odour-free in a flat. Our warm ambient temperatures usually keep the water comfortable, but stable, clean conditions remain the priority for a thriving turtle.
