The single most common mistake we see is the second reagent not being shaken hard enough. Bottle two contains a suspension that settles, so give it a vigorous 30 seconds and bang the tube for a full minute before reading, or you will get a falsely low result. Test in good daylight against a white background, and log the number after each change so you can dial in the right water-change rhythm for your stocking level.
