Description
The KoiMedicPro is the koi hobbyist and professional’s must-have tool! It measures Salinity, pH, and temperature at one go.
The KoiMedicPro is rugged and splash-proof. It can be used as a stirrer and at the same time, to measure Salinity, pH, and temperature at one go. The KoiMedicPro features a dual LCD display with backlighting – no more worries about in dim environments. Each measurement is automatically frozen after a stabilized reading is established. Such feature is unmatched in other expensive all in one meter.
Why we need to use salt ?
Benefits of Using Salt in Fish Farming:
Salt is commonly applied every day in fish farms to support the health and care of the fish.
Benefits include:
– Preventing the growth of parasites and bacteria
– Balancing the osmotic pressure of fish
Salt is applied when isolating fish and when treating sick fish.
Recommended Salt Concentrations:
For separating fish: add 0.3% salt
For treating sick fish: use 0.5% or 0.6% salt
How to Measure Salt Levels:
Use a salt tester:
– Turn on the device
– Insert the tester into the tank
– Wait for the indicator to stop flashing
– Read the salt concentration result
Example Measurement:
A sample reading shows a salt concentration of 0.4%
This measured level can be used when marinating the fish
Advanced Features:
3 Function in 1
Meter measures Salinity concentration, pH, and Temperature in one go
2 measurement units for Salt Concentration
Users can select the salinity reading in % (percentage) or ppt (parts-per-thousand)
Backlit LCD display
The dual LCD screen will light up upon a stabilized reading or press of the button.
Replaceable Probe
Sensor probe is replaceable upon expiry. Save money and the environment as well!
AA size Battery
The meter uses 4 regular AA-size batteries, commonly available everywhere.
KoiMedic Pro Instructions Manual
Using the TRANS INSTRUMENT KoiMedic Pro Pen in Singapore
For koi keepers running outdoor or balcony ponds here, a single pen that reads pH, salinity and temperature together saves a lot of fuss. We like that you can stir and measure in one motion, which suits the larger water volumes most local ponds hold. In our warm climate, pond temperatures sit well above tank readings, so checking temperature alongside salinity helps you judge oxygen and fish behaviour during hot afternoons.
Salinity readings matter most when you dose pond salt during quarantine or stress events, a common practice among Singapore koi hobbyists. The pen lets you confirm you have reached your target concentration rather than guessing by the bag. Keep the probe clean after each use, store it dry, and recalibrate periodically since our chloraminated tap water and frequent top-ups can shift readings over time. Always rinse off pond debris before storing.
This pen pairs well with the rest of our water testing and care range. If you are dialling in your routine, our aquarium water parameters guide and digital pH pen comparison explain what each reading means and how often to check.
