Jeneca GD-603 2ft Top Filter With 3-Layer Media

Sized for a 2ft tank, the GD-603 layers mechanical, chemical and biological filtration in one top-mounted unit, and the adjustable side frame lets it sit securely on tanks of slightly different widths. This three-stage approach is a sensible default for the medium community tanks that fill so many Singapore homes: the foam catches debris, the chemical layer polishes the water, and the biological media houses the bacteria that keep ammonia and nitrite in check.

Being an overhead design, it trickles water back through the air, which boosts oxygen in our warm 27-29C tanks where dissolved oxygen runs low. That makes it a comfortable match for fish-heavy setups like barbs, tetras and goldfish-style stocking. As with all top filters there is a little falling-water sound, so adjust the flow to a level you are happy to live with in an apartment.
