Melini Corydoras Care in Singapore Tanks

Corydoras melini is a small, peaceful saddle-marked cory that works beautifully as a busy bottom team in a planted community. Like all corys they are shoaling fish, so we always recommend a group of at least six; in numbers they forage confidently across the day rather than hiding. A soft sand bed protects their delicate barbels, which can erode on sharp gravel and leave them prone to infection.

Singapore’s ambient 27-29C sits comfortably within their range, so most keepers run them heaterless. They appreciate gentle, well-oxygenated flow and clean substrate, since waste trapped in the sand is what usually troubles bottom dwellers here. Sinking pellets and the occasional frozen treat keep them in good weight; don’t rely on community leftovers reaching the floor. Acclimate slowly by floating and drip-mixing tank water.
