Sterbai Corydoras Care in Singapore
Sterbai are our go-to corydoras for local tanks because, unlike most of their cousins, they tolerate warmth genuinely well. Many cory species sulk above 26C, but Sterbai handle Singapore’s natural 27-29C room temperature comfortably, which makes them one of the few corys you can keep heaterless alongside warm-water community fish. Their spotted heads and orange pectoral fins make a busy, cheerful bottom-dwelling group.
Give them a soft sand or smooth fine-gravel base so their delicate barbels stay healthy; sharp substrate wears barbels down and invites infection. Keep them in a shoal of six or more for natural behaviour, and feed sinking foods they can forage at night. Strong filtration and regular water changes keep the bottom layer clean, since waste settles where these fish live and feed.
