Cryptocoryne Petchii Care in Singapore Tanks
Cryptocoryne Petchii is a compact, undemanding crypt that forms tidy rosettes of brownish-green, slightly textured leaves, making it a reliable mid-ground plant for Singapore aquascapers. Supplied as a tissue-culture cup, it arrives pest-free and algae-free, which is ideal for shrimp tanks and carefully maintained nano scapes where introducing snails or hydra is best avoided. We like it for hobbyists who want a low-fuss crypt that fills in gradually without taking over the layout.
Like most crypts, Petchii is a heavy root feeder, so a nutrient-rich aqua soil rewards it with steadier growth. It does not need pressurised CO2 and tolerates low to moderate light, which suits low-tech Singapore setups. Our soft, slightly acidic tap water and 27-29C ambient temperature suit it without a chiller. Plant it and resist moving it; crypts dislike disturbance and may melt if relocated, usually recovering from the rhizome once parameters settle again.
Browse the full cryptocoryne-live-plants range for companions. Our Cryptocoryne care guide covers light and dosing, and if leaves melt after planting our guide to fixing crypt melt after transplant explains the recovery.
